Sessionario compared with SessionLab
SessionLab is the best known workshop design tool – and a good one. If you landed here, you want to know how Sessionario differs. This page tells you, including where SessionLab is the better choice.
The shortest difference
SessionLab charges per head, Sessionario per session. For a single person both cost the same – 9 a month. The difference shows as soon as somebody works along: with SessionLab every contributing person needs their own seat at 15 USD a month. With us whoever you invite works along at no extra cost – as long as that person has at most three sessions open in total.
The second one: Sessionario keeps running offline. Read, edit, add blocks – in a venue with one bar of Wi-Fi. As soon as you are back online it syncs quietly.
Where SessionLab is the better choice
- The methods library. More than 1000 ready-made exercises and formats, publicly accessible, maintained for years. If you are looking for a collection to draw from, nothing comes close.
- Templates for whole workshops. Complete agendas you take over and adapt.
- Maturity and scope. SessionLab has been around for years, with integrations to Google Drive, Office 365 and Dropbox, with analytics, single sign-on and a management system for organisations running a pool of facilitators.
- A large community. Over 2000 professionals, publications, the annual State of Facilitation report.

Where Sessionario fits
- Your own AI, with no quota. Both tools connect to ChatGPT or Claude. The difference is the counting: SessionLab's built-in assistant has a request quota per plan (50, 200 or 500 a month), and MCP access is not in the entry plan. With us you work through your own AI account – as often as you like, in the tool you already use.
- Inviting people costs nothing. Co-trainers, assistants, the colleague from the next team – editing included, on every plan.
- Offline. Seminar rooms rarely have good Wi-Fi.
- Private notes on every block. A column only you can see – and nobody knows it is there.
- Run the day live in the participants' time zone. A red line moves through the agenda and shows where you are. Not in your time, when you facilitate a session in Frankfurt from Toronto.
- Interface in English, German and Spanish, data on servers in Germany.

What does it actually cost?
The two count differently, so it is worth doing the maths. SessionLab charges per head: anyone who is meant to contribute needs their own paid seat. Sessionario counts sessions: you pay once you have more than three sessions open at the same time – your own and the ones you were invited to, counted together.

The tipping point: as long as your colleagues work on no more than three sessions, they cost nothing with us – with SessionLab every one of them costs from day one. And honestly the other way round: anyone who constantly sits on many programmes needs their own plan here too.
What we do not claim
Sessionario is younger. There are no thousand ready-made methods, no Dropbox integration, no management system for a facilitator pool. If that is what you are after, SessionLab serves you better, and we would rather say so here than after you paid.
We are building something else: a tool for trainers who think with their own AI, work in the room, and do not want to pay a seat for every colleague.
